Making it to the Top

          Making it to the Top
                Encouraging topic for Aug. 31st!

This time of year many of us are preparing for the fall season! School is starting in a couple days, the weather will be changing soon and summer is almost over! Boooo!!!!  If you have school age children you are in the thick of it!  Sometimes I feel like I am going the wrong way on an escalator trying to be a good mom and trying to make sure my children make it to the top of this escalator of life!

I mean, going down the right way is hard enough! At the mall a couple weeks ago, I had bags in hand, purse on shoulder, and was holding my daughters hand (because I couldn't pick her up) trying to get her on.  I got on, and had to tug her on a bit because she didn't step right after me because she was scared. She almost did a split as her one foot held on to solid ground for dear life! She was crying, I felt bad that she got scared and the escalator just took us to the bottom.  We made it without injury,  but I wouldn't really say we had great success or did it well! :/

How can we as moms raise our kids to be successful ? Do we have to drag their scared, unwilling butts up the escalator as it pushes us in the opposite direction their entire childhood? Then what happens when/if they do finally reach the top? Will they be ready to jump off a cliff? LOL!  Why is there constant conflict and opposition against the good things we are trying to grow in our children?  Can we as mom's ever reach the top of the escalator of motherhood success? Who even defines what success is?

Well, I know that SUCCESS is a word I rarely use in definition of my mothering! I think it is rare to feel that we meet the expectations we put on ourselves and the expectations we feel from other mom's! A typical day of being a mom often leaves me feeling like I could have done more or better in some way.  How about you?

Well, there is hope! We can be and feel successful! and as the fall season is upon us, lets reevaluate how we can do that! Looking forward to seeing you all Saturday!!!
